Interview Clément Couderc
Hello, what´s your name?
Hello, I’m Clément Couderc.
Why is this piece of art your favourite piece?
This picture is from the „Genaw“ series (work in progress); it is not my favorite but it represents well this series and is one of the few able to function on its own.
Genaw is a work of photography that accompanies life, it’s a succession of moments, of discoveries, surprises facing the everyday environment.
in Genaw it’s this position of a permanently active viewer that interests me.
Would you tell us the story behind it?
for Genaw (Genau) these are just photos taken in the moment, of the order of the mundane, everyday life.
In the landscape of every day, I photograph things that hold my attention, which I am contemplating or that are related to my current research and my art work.
I sort them once and share them in the form of a Facebook album.
I always worked with photo this way, the quality of the camera is not important to me.
I also recently collaborated on this project with Nicolas Nicolini.
What does art mean to you?
Art is for me a work,
it is abut curiosity, sharing, generosity,
but also freedom;
where imagination and reflection have a prominent place.
