Das Superlative Photo of the Day kommt vom Hamburger Finn Jäger.
Finn Jäger – Photo of the Day
It was not easy to find my „favorite“ work, but I was sure that it had to be something that I did without getting paid, paid work is always too restrictive, too professional and it leaves out all the feelings.
I took this picture at my Campsite at the Baltic Sea, the place I spent every summer since I was born.
This place to me is a living picture of my childhood, even if you cannot see the campsite directly in this picture, I can see every second of my childhood in the eyes of my little brother Luis.
I took this picture when I walked around a cornfield with him, it was really just a snapshot but for me this is the picture that means the most to me.
I cannot remember what I had for breakfast yesterday but I can remember every camera/lens combo I used for every picture I ever took. For this picture I used my trusty Leica R8 and a Summicron 50mm f/2.0 shot on Ilford Delta 100 Film, developed at my home lab using Ilford ID-11 Developer. I scanned the Printed positive using a Canon 6D and a Macro lens.
I really hope that you can see your own childhood adventures in his eyes, the time you spent just doing whatever you wanted without thinking about anything with the people you love.
To me, this is what Photography should be about.
